2021 — Present
  • Lead the internal developer platform — built a self-serve service template that cut new-service setup from two weeks to under a day.
  • Re-architected the event pipeline to handle 2.1B events/day at peak while dropping p99 ingest latency by 40%.
  • Drove the migration to a multi-region setup, taking platform uptime from 99.9% to 99.98%.
  • Mentor four mid-level engineers; run the internal "platform office hours" for ~40 product engineers.

Senior Backend Engineer · Northpoint Data

2017 — 2021
  • Owned the streaming ingestion service (Go + Kafka); scaled it from 10M to 600M records/day without a rewrite.
  • Introduced infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) across the team, cutting environment drift incidents to near zero.
  • Built the on-call runbook culture — reduced mean time to recovery by 55% over 18 months.

  • Third engineering hire; built the core API and billing service that carried the product through its Series A.
