Cobalt Electric is a four-electrician residential and small-commercial contractor serving Denver and the Front Range since 2009. Service calls, panel upgrades, EV chargers, knob-and-tube remediation, and the things you forgot to ask the inspector about.
Nine kinds of residential and small-commercial work, ordered roughly by how often we get the call. We don't do new-construction rough-in or anything industrial — there are better outfits in town for both.
Lights out, outlet dead, breaker tripping. The bread and butter. Most calls are resolved in 60-90 minutes including the part. We carry common parts on the truck.
From 100A to 200A, from Federal Pacific to anything code-compliant, from a half-finished basement panel to the right thing in the right place. Permit included.
240V hardwired Level 2 chargers, dedicated 40-60A circuit, NEMA 14-50 if you prefer plug-in. Same-day quote on most Front Range houses.
Adding outlets to walls that weren't built for them. Bringing kitchens and bathrooms up to current GFCI/AFCI code. Smart-switch installs.
Recessed-can layouts, pendant installs over kitchen islands, chandeliers in vaulted ceilings (we own the ladder). Outdoor and landscape lighting too.
Buying a house with a question mark on the electrical? We'll spend 90 minutes in it and give you a written report with photos & estimates for any issues. Most buyers' agents know us.
Older homes in Park Hill, Five Points, Wash Park. Section-by-section replacement, often coordinated with insulation and drywall trades. Multi-day jobs.
Transfer-switch and sub-panel for whole-house and partial-house standby generators. Generac and Kohler certified install. Permit included.
Power out and the utility says it's on your side. No heat in February. Burning smell from a panel. We rotate the on-call phone between the four of us; it gets answered.
Denver and the Front Range, roughly within an hour of our shop in Sun Valley. No travel charge inside the service area. We're licensed in Colorado statewide; we just won't drive farther than that for non-emergency work.
If you're not on the list and you'd like to be quoted anyway, give us a call — we sometimes make exceptions for repeat customers' family.
Four steps. Same for a $140 outlet fix and a $12,000 panel-plus-EV-charger combo job.
Describe the problem. We'll ask the right follow-ups. If it's an emergency we'll route you to the on-call electrician.
For anything bigger than a service call, we come out, look, and give you a written quote on the spot or by EOD.
We pull the permit, schedule the work for a day that fits, show up when we said, and clean up before we leave.
City inspector signs off. You get the invoice, the permit closure, and our cell numbers in case anything's off.
Called Beau on a Sunday morning when our breaker panel started buzzing. He was here in 90 minutes, replaced the panel three days later, walked us through the whole thing. Honest, on time, didn't try to upsell.Heather L.Park Hill · panel replacement, Apr '26
Had two other electricians quote our EV charger install at almost double. Cobalt did it for what they said, when they said, with a permit and a sticker. The other guys didn't pull permits — I'm glad I waited.Daniel O.Englewood · EV charger, Feb '26
Bought a 1908 in Five Points with extensive knob-and-tube. Cobalt did the remediation across three weekends so we didn't have to move out. The crew was respectful, the work passed inspection first time.Reema & Aaron S.Five Points · KT remediation, Jan '26
